The Effects of Local Heating of Proteins in Electron Transfer //Russian Journal of Physical Chemistry, 1995, v.69, №8, p.1250-1253

It is shown that local heating of proteins in the electron transfer range can influence considerably the transfer rate. As the electron travels a distance of 5-6 angstrem, the local heating can be as much as tens of degrees which leads to activation temperature dependence of the reaction rate at helium temperatures.
