Review of Solvated electrons in electrolytes

1991-1993. Some new ideas of the mechanism of formation and stabilization of solvated electrons in electrolytes were put forward in the papers by O.V.Vasil’ev and V. D.Lakhno /2/, /3/, /5/ ). In collaboration with the laboratory of computer engineering of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (the town of Dubna) we found for the first time particle-like solutions to equations describing solvated electrons in electrolytes. Characteristics of such states, such as free energy, enthropy, excitation energy, etc. were calculated. The results obtained are partially presented in /9/.

1993-1994. Ideas of a possible existence of self-trapped electron states in a medium with mobile charge carriers were used in /7/, /11/, where a new concept of continuum excitons in semiconductors was introduced (see Sect. “Continuum excitons”).

1994-2005.  The concept of continuum excitons was used to describe electron excitations in metals.
